CAMP RALLY IN WILEY HUGE SUCCESS
The rally in Wiley held on Friday, April 24th, which had originally been scheduled for March 27th and had to be re-scheduled due to LOTS of snow, was a huge success!!
Approx. 80 kids and 30 adults turned out for a fun evening of great music led by "Uncle" Billy Isidoro and his band: Zack Esgar on bass, Taylor Wilson on drums and background vocalist, Jennifer Talbott.
There was a slideshow presentation with a little "Flee Fly" led by Zack to get the crowd ready for this summers' camps.
Following the rally, there was a lock-in for about 40 middle school and senior high school students.

BILLY ISIDORO CHRISTMAS CONCERT FUNDRAISER
On Friday, December 12th, BCYC hosted a free Christmas Concert featuring Billy Isidoro at the United Methodist Church in Monte Vista. Thanks to the generosity of those in attendance, we were able to raise approximately $ 2400.00 for the new building fund!!
NEW LODGE
Beaver Creek is in the process of building a new winterized lodge. The new lodge will be a 40-bed, handicapped accessible, dorm-type facility which will enable us to extend the camping season and meet the needs of all prospective campers.
Groundbreaking Ceremony
A Groundbreaking Ceremony was held on Sunday, August 12, 2007 to break ground for our new four seasons lodge.
The ceremony brought out over 100 enthusiastic supporters.
A luau meal was served following the ceremony along with some music performed by Billy Isidoro.
Progress of Fundraising
Beaver Creek Camp Building Fund has already received total donations of $564,940.00 during the past 9 years, for the new building.
Expenditures, prior to hiring a contractor have totaled $53,410.00, which included: architectural fees, and excavating and blasting for site preparation. The contractor's total bid was $799,094.00. This leaves $435,156.00 to be paid before completion of project.
At this point the checking account assets total $190,000.00, leaving a shortage of $250,000.00.
The camp commission is adamant regarding NOT INCURRING DEBT for the first time in the 60 year history of the camp, so consequently, the contractor has agreed to cease work if funds run out, until more funds are available.
PLEASE HELP US MAKE BEAVER CREEK CAMP A YEAR ROUND CAMP TO SERVE EVERYONE IN COLORADO AND NEIGHBORING STATES, WHO WISH TO ENJOY A GREAT MOUNTAIN EXPERIENCE.
SEND TAX DEDUCTIBLE DONATIONS TO: BEAVER CREEK CAMP BUILDING FUND, P.O. BOX 827, MONTE VISTA, CO 81144.

THE YOUTH GROUP FROM THE FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH OF ALBUQUERQUE, NM COMES TO BCYC
The Youth Group from First United Methodist Church of Albuquerque, NM comes to Beaver Creek to help paint, pour concrete, spread gravel, clean up and repairs and so much more!
On Sunday, June 15, the Youth Group from the First United Methodist Church in Albuquerque, NM arrived at Beaver Creek to help out with some much-needed work.
First United Methodist Church located in downtown Albuquerque, has a long history of mission work both in the city of Albuquerque and through their connection as part of the United Methodist Church. First UMC has church members that participate in other opportunities of ministry in the city of Albuquerque.
The Youth Group is encouraged and supported each year to participate in local mission projects and an annual summer mission experience.
This year, Beaver Creek was the lucky recipient of the youth group's mission ministry.
During the week, they were able to accomplish so much of what we have needed, but never have time to complete.
They not only poured cement to make a patio and steps outside the Canteen and a sidewalk for the Manager's Cabin, they did some touch-up painting on the cabins and completed painting the cabins that were unfinished. They also stained the beams in the Lodge, varnished outdoor tables, moved a large woodpile, spread gravel in front of the Lodge and out to the trails, cleared rocks by the flagpole, fixed the horseshoe pits, cleaned up the basketball court, re-painted the horseshoes and shuffleboard pucks, wiped down grease from the stove hood, painted the steam tables, painted a really cool mural in our upstairs recreation room and built a Cornhole game!!
And, they accomplished all of this with 16 teenagers (13 girls and 3 boys), 3 adult male sponsors and 2 adult women sponsors!!
And, not only did they do ALL of this work at the camp, they also held a concert at Chapel of the South Fork on Tuesday evening!
The Staff and future campers and all who will be experiencing the fruits of their labors want to send out a huge THANK YOU to this wonderful group of teenagers and adults!!
Now we hope that they will be able to come back and be able to enjoy for themselves what all they accomplished!!
Thank you again to the Youth Group from the First United Methodist Church in Albuquerque!! God bless you all!!
