Welcome to the Beaver Creek Youth Camp Youth Page
Okay, so you're interested in being a counselor for the Youth camps. Now what?
We are seeking counselors who are active followers of Jesus Christ and involved in their local church and/or youth group. Our counselors will be expected to set an example that honors Christ through developing wholesome, caring relationships with those around them; dressing in a way that is pleasing and honoring to God; abstinence from alcohol, tobacco, and/or illegal drugs; and care for God's creations.
Being a counselor can be a total blast, but it also requires a tremendous amount of dedication and hard work. You can expect to work with various programs, assist with bible studies and activities, other counselors and campers. You can also expect some long hours and sometimes, little thanks. But, you can also expect to get hands-on experience that prepares you for life, and the chance to grow in your leadership skills, self-confidence, and ability to work with a variety of people, and to deepen your faith as God uses you to make a difference in other people's lives. You will also develop a bond with other counselors and staff while we work, play, worship, laugh and pray together that will last a lifetime.
Just a few things to know:
Our counselors are hand-picked, background-checked and extensively trained on proper camper safety and support. They are then able to provide leadership, hospitality and quality care to our campers.
All counselors will be required to be at least 3 years older than the camp they are working.
Also, all counselors will be expected to attend a training day here at the camp to prepare you for the camps you will be working with.
Counselors will be expected to be responsible for the care, safety & spiritual lives of our campers.
The primary goal is building Christian community where campers are encouraged to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ, others and nature.
